The insurgents, during the many revolutions that took place in Latin America, fought against the Catholic Church for its abuses of the poor and its support of the rich. The counter-revolutions turned the tables as reactionaries made restoring the Catholic Church to its former stature part of its platform.

Brownsville bishops have never stood with el pueblo. They have never made public stands against the political corruption, the poverty and the mistreatment of immigrants. They will pay lip service that The Brownsville Herald duly notes on its front page, but the institution has never waged an uncompromising struggle for social justice. Drinking good wine and sodomizing each other when the bottles run dry is the impression that most educated people have of the Catholic Church today.

Bishop Peters' passionate defense of State Senator Eddie Lucio Jr. caught the public off guard. He never makes a public appearance. The effeminate prelate turns wine into Christ's blood in the morning during mass and then rides the buzz for the rest of the day until dinner when he washes down his sumptuous repast with a Riojo. Sometimes he'll knock off a second if it was a bloody day for Jesus.

The bishop has no standing in the community. Where are his balls? Is that why he wears a cassock so he can keep his gonads tucked safely out of sight? La raza ambushed him with this hit when they said he was full of shit. If he were a real man, he would have a woman or at least a cute seminarian whom he wouldn't hide in the closet.

"'Sucio' is an unacceptable word when associated with a Mexican-American name," pontificated Bishop Peters who prefers that the faithful kiss his ass rather then his ring. It sends an electrifying tingle up his bunghole. Nobody thinks twice about saying a pedophilic priest or a dirty politician in contemporary conversations. There is nothing wrong with combining "Sucio" with "Lucio" when it's placed in a political context. Hasn't Trump's one great contribution been the destruction of political correctness!?!?

I can hear two teenagers shouting at each other prior to a fight.

"Chinga, tu madre!"

"Sucio!"

"¿Que?"

"Sucio!"

"Mamas pura verga, puto!"

"Eres sucio."

"Pendejo!"

"Eres muy sucio."

"You can suck my dick, pinche cagapalo!"

"Ay! Eres muy, muy sucio."

I can visualize the aggressor scratching his head and walking away. He is confounded; he can't put 'sucio' into the proper context. He can only recall his mother using the word when his baby brother has shitted in his diapers.

With the health crisis and the spreading pandemic, one would think that the bishop would have more serious issues to address, but rather than coming to the aid of a COVID victim suffering from HIV, he is more concerned with saving Lucio's political life than saving a person's life.

At The Murphy Report we are all Catholics. We know first-hand that it has deteriorated into a rotten religion. As to Bishop Peters, he needs to pull his head out of his anus. His defense of Lucio is nothing short of heinous for a man who is outwardly so pious.

My patio faces east. In the early afternoon the sun has embarked on its ancient descent toward the west and I relax on my lawn chair in the shade. I breathe deeply. My lungs are clear. Coronavirus has me contemplating life from a variety of angles. I am led to believe that those who suffer death from the disease suffocate. That doesn't sound like a pleasant exit to me.
